Gahanna police officers and dispatchers will see raises of at least 4.5% annually for the next three years after approval of their unions' collective bargaining agreements.
Gahanna City Council on Monday unanimously approved three-year contracts with the Fraternal Order of Police Capital City Lodge No. 9 for patrol officers, sergeants and lieutenants and FOP Ohio Labor Council Inc. for communication technicians, or dispatchers.
According to the contracts, which are effective from Jan. 1, 2025-Dec. 31, 2027, police officers will receive a 4.5% pay increase each year of the three year contract. Dispatchers will see 5% raises Jan. 1 and 4.5% raises in 2026 and 2027.
Based on experience, police officer annual salaries will range from $69,804.80 to $114,379.20 in 2025; $72,945.60 to $119,516.80 in 2026; and $76,211.20 to $124,904 in 2027. Sergeants annual salaries will range from $121,160 to $133,515.20 in 2025; $126,609.60 to $139,526.40 in 2026; and $132,308.80 to $145,808 in 2027. The department's lieutenant salaries will range from $137,696 to $149,552 in 2025; $143,894.40 to $156,270.40 in 2026; and $150,363.20 to $163,300.80 in 2027.
The communication technician I position annual salaries will range from $55,975.92 to $75,173.28 in 2025; $58,494.84 to $78,556.08 in 2026; and $61,127.10 to $82,091.10 in 2027. The communication technician II positions will earn an annual salary of $86,464.56 in 2025, $90,355.47 in 2026; and $94,421.46 in 2027.
