Dec. 27, 1938 -- Nov. 23, 2024
Judith Lynn Lyons, 85, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on November 23, 2024. She is survived by her soulmate husband, John; daughter, Lori; son, Doug, and his wife, Debra; nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her faithful dog Annie. She was well loved and admired in her community. Judy lived her life to the fullest. She wasn't one to sit still for long. Judy always surrounded herself by family and friends.
Judy was a sports fan. She was an excellent tennis player spanning from her early 20s well into her 80s. She also loved her football and baseball teams. There was no greater enthusiast of the SF 49ers or the SF Giants than Judy. She loved and supported her teams in true fan style dressed in colors to win!
Judy also loved watching NASCAR. She and John would watch every weekend during the racing season. They had different favorite drivers but that didn't matter. They were always happy for each other's outcome, that is, as long as Judy's driver did well. During her final NASCAR season Judy's favorite driver Joey Logano took the championship. A fitting result for the end of her season.
Judy was an avid gardener and had the proverbial green thumb. There wasn't a plant or flower that she didn't know or admire. She also supported numerous animal welfare groups as she always had a passion and love of all animals.
Judy loved being on the water whether it was racing boats, water skiing, jet skiing, enjoying their "run about" boat or relaxing on their Bayliner "Good To Go." Judy also loved being John's back warmer on their Harley Road King. John and Judy loved riding by themselves or riding with The Usual Suspects. In The Usual Suspects John was known as "Wiz" and Judy was his "Rag Doll." They took numerous trips including one notably to Sturgis, South Dakota. It seems that Judy had "a need for speed." The faster the better on land and water.
Judy was well known in her community with her self-built and owned California Properties Real Estate and Property Management business, serving in the Kiwanis, on the Fairfield Planning Commission, in the BPW, or holding offices in the Solano Yacht Club, just to name a few.
Judy will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her willingness to help others, her generosity, her smile and her style - which was always impeccable.
Judy was a literal shining star to anyone she came in contact with and that light will live on forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a time and date to be determined.
