Remember to double-check your bus route going into next week, as there are some changes taking effect beginning Sunday. These changes are a part of the MBTA Bus Network Redesign's Phase 1 plans.
Here are the changes you can expect in Chelsea, Everett, Revere, Malden, Somerville, Cambridge, Allston, Brighton, and East Boston:
Route 86, which runs from Reservoir to Harvard Square, will begin running more frequently during midday, evenings, and weekends. The route will also be shortened. It will no longer continue to Sullivan. Riders can transfer at Harvard toward Sullivan in the Upper Busway, and transfer toward Reservoir at street level at Eliot Street and Bennett Street.
Route 104 will run more often and be rerouted. It will now travel between Malden and Logan Airport. It will follow the existing route from Malden Center to Everett Square. Instead of going south to Sullivan, it will go east to Boston Logan.
Route 109 will run more often. Service will run from about 4:30 a.m. to 1:45 a.m. on weekdays, and about 4:45 a.m. to 1:45 a.m. on weekends. The bus will run from Linden Square to Sullivan Square, and extend past Sullivan to Harvard.
Route 110, which runs between Wonderland and Wellington Stations, will run more frequently, and some bus locations in Revere Center will be modified.
Routes 116 and 117, which run between Wonderland Station and Maverick Station, will be combined. This route will follow the same path as 116 today and run every 15 minutes or more frequently.
Route 117 will be discontinued. Riders can use an alternative route from Central Avenue and Beach Street on Route 110, transferring to 116 at Broadway at Park Avenue in Revere or at Wonderland.
