Julia Talley Olguin Julia Talley Olguin passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024 in Newport News, VA following a courageous battle with adenoid cystic carcinoma. Born in Albuquerque, NM on August 7, 1954, to T.J. and Joyce Talley, Julia was known for her infectious laugh and piercing blue eyes that resembled the bright New Mexico sky. She graduated from Valley High School in 1972 and later attended McMurry University in Abilene, TX. Julia began her professional career at New Mexico Steel and later launched Golf West Tours travel agency where she enjoyed connecting with people from all over the world. Always in search of adventure, she loved taking road trips and exploring new places. She was deeply devoted to her family and treasured time spent with her son, daughter, and grandchildren. Recently, she relocated to Virginia to be closer to them. An active member of the Los Ranchos community, Julia was very involved in her children's schools and formed lasting friendships through her participation in the Alvarado Follies. Her joyful presence shone brightly whether she was performing on stage, sharing a funny story, or offering a plate of her famous Christmas cookies. Julia's generosity and humor left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Julia is survived by husband, Maurice Olguin; son, Jared Olguin (Megumi); daughter, Allison Bland (Joseph); grandchildren, Theo Bland and Emiko Olguin; and sister, Sue Ann Voris (Ron). A celebration of Julia's life will be held on February 17, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Los Poblanos La Quinta Cultural Center, 4803 Rio Grande Blvd NW.
