Firefighters worked to put out a fire on Highland Glen Drive in Randolph, Tuesday night.
A person at the home called the fire department shortly after 7 p.m., reporting that the smoke detectors in the house were going off and smoke was coming from the basement, according to Randolph Chief of Operations Paul Frew.
The residents of the house evacuated the house on their own, according to Frew.
Firefighters located the source of the fire, which appeared to be coming from the home's furnace. Crews were able to confine the fire to that area and quickly knock it down. The furnace sustained "minimal damage," according to fire officials.
