WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - The latest snow producer in the region produced anywhere from 2 to 8 inches in northern and central Wisconsin. In the wake of that snowfall, dry and chilly weather is on tap Friday night into the start of the weekend. Temps are expected to moderate on Sunday, however the next opportunity for snow returns late Sunday night and for Monday. A First Alert for the potential of slippery travel conditions on Monday. Temperatures for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the start of Hanukkah will be above average for late December. It is expected to be warm enough late next week for chances of rain showers.

Partly cloudy to clear and cold Friday night into Saturday morning. Lows slipping back into the single digits to near zero.
The winter solstice takes place early Saturday morning. The first day of winter on Saturday features a fair amount of sun, but rather chilly. Highs in the mid 10s to around 20.
A mix of clouds and some sun on Sunday, with a milder afternoon. Highs rebound into the mid to upper 20s.
A First Alert for the next snow producer, which could arrives as soon as late Sunday night, but is more likely to be around for Monday. Periods of light snow and snow showers are forecast, with minor accumulations of snow possible. No less, be prepared for slippery and perhaps snow covered roads on Monday. The flakes should wind down before the big Packers game Monday night at Lambeau Field. Not too cold for late December, with temps in the low 30s to the upper 20s.
Christmas Eve on Tuesday will have more clouds than sun but relatively mild with highs in the mid 30s. Christmas Day has more clouds than breaks of sun with afternoon temps rising into the upper 30s. Quiet weather is on tap for the start of Hanukkah on Wednesday night.
The next rounds of precipitation could be rain showers on Thursday and next Friday. Highs in the upper 30s to around 40.
