Teen Mom: The Next Chapter is coming back with new episodes for season 2B, and the star's kids are all grown up. What can fans expect in the new batch of episodes, what happens in the trailer and when does it premiere?
MTV announced that Teen Mom: The Next Chapter is celebrating its sweet 16 with all new episodes premiering in January.
"The season centers full circle moments and important milestones as Leah Messer, Maci Bookout and Amber Portwood find themselves parenting children who are now the same age as they were when the show first began," MTV said in a statement released on December 20, 2024. "Catelynn Lowell, who made the tough decision to place her daughter with adoptive parents, grapples with the emotional pain of the choice as that relationship changes."
The press release continued, "From driving lessons and college planning to safe sex conversations and managing relationships, the moms are stepping into uncharted territory, taking stock of their journeys and reflecting on how quickly time has passed."
In addition to Amber, Catelynn, Leah and Maci, Ashley Jones, Briana DeJesus, Cheyenne Davis, Jade Cline and Mackenzie McKee are all expected to return for the new season.
MTV teased that fans can expect to watch the moms at different phases in their lives. While Cheyenne and Mackenzie hope to add more children to their families, Briana will actively take steps to prevent becoming pregnant again.
The new season - which was filmed 16 years after some of the stars shared their pregnancy journeys of 16 & Pregnant - promises to highlight milestones in the teens' lives.
In the trailer released on December 20, 2024, Amber and Gary Shirley's daughter, Leah, prepared to learn how to drive. Meanwhile, Maci and Ryan Edwards' son, Bentley, anticipated celebrating his 16th birthday.
While Bentley was looking forward to turning 16, he admitted that he couldn't believe Maci was pregnant with him at the same age. "I don't know what I would do if I had a kid right now," he said.
Shortly after the trailer was uploaded on Instagram, several fans took to the comments section to express their excitement about the new season. "Omg omg omg!!!! My reality show nieces and nephews are 16?!?! Where has the time gone?!?! Can't wait!!!!" one person wrote. Another chimed in, "Already crying! How are the kids already 16. Can't wait for this season."
"This is crazy the og kids are at the age their moms are when they had them," a third fan wrote, and another jokingly commented, "I am.... Elderly."
