A man who shot a Vermont police officer and was being sought for more than 24 hours after the incident was arrested early Sunday morning, authorities said. Vermont State Police said Scott Mason, 38, of St. Johnsbury was taken into custody around 2 a.m. Sunday, at a house next door to where the shooting took place Friday.After midnight, police obtained a search warrant for 251 Portland St. and converged on the house, state police said.
