NEW YORK STATE (WRGB) -- Thirty thousand toys will be in the hands of children from the Capital Region to Binghamton, thanks to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots train...which left from Rensselaer this morning, making five stops on the way to Binghamton...the largest Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign in the country
Patrick Lurenz/US Marine Coordinator, Capital Region Toys For Tots:
"This is such a unique event, and I can't understate how important this is because without this train these children in these communities between here and Binghamton wouldn't have that new toy, gift, blanket this Christmas."
And the work doesn't stop today, or on December 25th. They also fulfill needs for international holidays after the new year for those populations too. You can still help out by going to capitalregiontoysfortots.org, where you can donate a toy or money to the campaign.
