In collaboration with the State Ministry of Health, health sector partners continue to support lifesaving interventions in IDP camps and health facilities within the affected community while responding to the ongoing cholera outbreak and developing the Humanitarian Needs Response Plan (HNRP) for 2025.

The main concern has been the further spread of cholera, necessitating increased control of population movement in and out of IDP camps and improving WASH within the affected communities in Borno State.

Flood Response and Anticipatory Action: To facilitate cross-sector collaboration with both health and non-health partners, an Anticipatory Action task force meeting on flood forecasting was held. This meeting included OCHA, Health Wash, the Cash Transfer Working Group, NiMet, and other partners to manage the recent flood forecast and mitigate its impact on the community in Adamawa and across BAY States.

To enhance stakeholders' capacity to establish a unified framework for preparedness and anticipatory action, the health sector participated in a Flood Trigger Framework development workshop for BAY States in Yola. The event was organized by OCHA in collaboration with the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA), Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet), National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and State Emergency Development Agencies from Adamawa and Yobe.

HNRP 2025 development: To review the People in Need (PiN) analysis, estimated figures, and LGA-level severity for HNRP 2025, the ISCG PiN and severity review was conducted with sector coordinators, IMOs, and the OCHA team. This activity involved reviewing all sector PiN analyses, estimated figures, and LGA-level severity to address flags raised by the JIAF 2.0 system.
