PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) -- In a match of Rocky vs. Riviera, Sylvester Stallone's seaweed barrier application hit a snag when Palm Beach neighbors opposed it during a council meeting on Thursday.
According to documents, the Rocky Star raised multiple concerns about the intercoastal waterway surrounding his North Palm Beach home.
During the council meeting, Stallone stated that people were anchoring off his property, seaweed was washing up on the beach and derelict vessels were appearing on his property. Notes from the public meeting also mentioned that Stallone said most of the issues were coming from Riviera Beach.

At the meeting, Stallone brought an engineer to discuss how the barrier plan would work.
Stalone wanted to create a 241-linear seaweed barrier that would attach to the terminal end of the existing dock on his property, anchored to an eyelet attached to a sleeved nylon rope. The proposal documents stated that the barrier would float vertically eight inches above the water.
Neighbors and Palm Beach residents were invited to speak, with many in opposition.
The residents cited restrictions on using the waterway for boating and kayaking as well as environmental concerns.
According to council meeting documents, after the residents raised their concerns, Stalone backpedaled his proposal and told the council he would withdraw the application.
The council still encourages people to email the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and the U.S. Army Corps Engineers (USACE) to voice their opposition on record in case anyone else attempts to push a similar plan in the future.
