Earlier this week we rounded up some of the wildest Tesla Cybertruck stories from the year, and now we've got a late entry of another weird situation that's seemingly due to the Cybertruck's unique design. While fixing minor damage to their wheel arch trim, one Cybertruck owner discovered the truck's rear air deflectors apparently creates perfect conditions for grass to grow.

The strange situation comes to us by way of Torque News via the Cybertruck Owners Club forum. Cybertruck owner and forum poster Cybertruck 1974 explains how they found out about the grass in their truck, and it was all thanks to a loose screw.

Ok, I had something hit my rear driver side air deflector or whatever you want to call it, not mud flap. Well anyways a screw was ripped out of it causing it to hang a little bit. I decided to try and remove it and noticed the guard was full of water and dirt with grass growing in it! Removing partially I saw I can and need to drill a small hole in the bottom of it to drain the water and remove the grass and dirt.

Nothing about the Cybertruck is simple, and the process to take these things off is no different, as Cybertruck 1974 explained.

Removing these takes removing the rear tire, removing half the push clips of wheel well cover and then being able to reach the two bolts that hold these pieces in place. What a hassle. The fronts are way easier to remove by the way and yes all four had water in them and dirt with grass!! I recommend drilling small holes in all four to prevent collection of dirt and water.

He provided pictures showing just how much mud, grass and water had collected, and it's quite a bit. Just guesstimating from the photos, the mud and water look to be at least a few inches thick. Other Cybertruck owners chimed in saying they had experienced the same problem. One forum poster, who also told Cybertruck 1974 that he could have just removed the rocker panel trim, mentioned how they discovered a colony of ants in their Cybertruck this summer. Another poster said the grass and water collecting isn't that big of a deal, saying it "happens to boats, vehicles, whenever dirt and see can mingle is a moist area."

This issue doesn't seem to be widespread, at least. A quick dig around the internet only brought up this Cybertruck Owners Club forum post. So either not many owners have encountered the issue of dirt and water collecting, or it's happening and they just haven't noticed yet, which seems plausible given where on the Cybertruck this seems to occur.
